Medevac

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Coast Guard medevaced a crewmember from an oil tanker 8 miles south of Port Aransas, Texas, Tuesday morning.

Sector/Air Station Corpus Christi watchstanders were contacted by the ship's agent of the Minerva Julie, a 600-foot oil tanker, requesting the medevac of an injured crewmember. Watchstanders consulted the duty flight surgeon who recommended a medevac.

A Sector/Air Station MH-65 Dolphin helicopter aircrew was launched, arrived on scene, and transferred the crewmember to Christus Spohn Hospital Shoreline in Corpus Christi.

The man was reported in stable condition.
